This post is among many I’ve seen regarding the issue of reblogging without giving credit or attribution to the original poster or posters. Some people openly wonder why it matters to anyone if they take the attributions off a reblog. I guess my response to that is “If it doesn’t matter to you if you take the attributions off, then why do it?”
Others seem to suggest that it’s hard work giving credit to the long line of posters on some threads that are blogged and reblogged. The response to that is, “Really? If you hit the reblog button, the credits/attributions are already there. You actually have to make an effort to remove them. It’s far easier to simply reblog without editing.” So don’t edit.
I understand wanting to get credit for something you found. I also understand making sure an artist gets appropriate credit for his or her work. I also understand the artist’s desire to have his or her work properly attributed. What I don’t really understand is what is accomplished by a reblogger by taking credits and attributions off of a thread before posting. What purpose is served? If there is a logical, reasoned explanation for this odd behavior, I’d love to hear it. Otherwise, just give credit where credit is due.
I reblog without credit because i want my tumblr to be an immaculate visual/sound experience. A photo is more powerful and inspiring, to me, if it is dissociated from it’s rebloger or finder.. On a more phylosophical level; aren’t we all bored of possesions, credits and all what makes this world so ugly. By the way i am a conceptual artist and i trully don’t mind anybody posting/using my work without credit… again that’s only me…
Karma brought this post back to me as the first thing up on my dashboard this morning…..and looking back up the thread,...

I agree, we should be above credit. So everyone quit the whining its fucking annoying.
Sometimes when it is a very popular post, it is done to clear it so it doesn’t look messy.
